Planned Parenthood Protest and Freedom of Speech

To anyone who doesn’t know, I am very pro-choice.  I have this position for a number of reasons.  For starters, since there are seven billion people on this planet and overpopulation is the biggest threat to our planet’s future, it just seems ridiculous to me to force a woman to go through with a pregnancy that she doesn’t want.  Second, whose right is it for the government to tell a woman what to do with her body?  I find it amazing that all these “small government” conservatives want to be able to legislate what women will do with their bodies.  Third, making abortion illegal will do nothing to stop them from happening.  This point has been brought up a thousand times, and it is still on point.  It just makes it so that abortions happen in back alleys by doctors who can’t be trusted, rather than in a clean, sterile environment where women can get care from licensed physicians who have years of practice under their belt.  There is no rational reason for me to be pro-life.

Anyone who has been following this blog for a long time knows that I am very much in support of Planned Parenthood as well.  I’ve told this story before (anecdotal evidence!) about a former friend of mine who hates my guts.  When she was a teenager, the guy she was with used her as a living sex toy and she ended up getting knocked up because this guy also wasn’t the best about protection.  What a shock.  Alone, unable to talk to anyone, she made what she has described as the hardest decision of her entire life and went to Planned Parenthood to have an abortion.  It was something she dealt with alone, and it helped shape all of her relationships since that point.

So when I see a rather sizeable crowd gathered outside of Planned Parenthood tonight with signs all about how abortion is evil and how Planned Parenthood is basically an abortion factory, you can imagine how annoyed I was.  Not only is the idea that all they do being abortions been proven beyond any reasonable doubt to be complete bullshit, but it only accounts for 3% of all the services they provide.  The rest is helping girls like a former girl I ran with whose periods were so painful that they caused her to be in agony for hours get birth control that she doesn’t take for sexual assistance purposes (though that is a fringe benefit) but to help her manage something that is excruciating.  Or there are women who don’t have the money for breast scans or other things to help detect cancer early.  Then there are just the people who use them to help get easy medical care that they don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for.

These people are motivated by ignorance.  They use pathos to get their point.  It’s easy to have some grotesque photo of a deceased embryo and believe that that is all abortion is.  Some murder factory for the fetus where all the youth are taken to be slaughtered.  It’s disgusting, to say the least.  Not to mention disingenuous.  That is not what abortion is.  Never even close.  Most abortions happen in the first few weeks of a pregnancy, when the fetus is nothing but a cluster of cells.  This image of abortion doctors being Nazi scientists harvesting baby organs is both laughable and insulting.  However, for those who are easily swayed by pathos and whose critical faculties lack in almost every discernible way, that’s all they need to hear to conclude that their path is right.  It helps that they are almost-exclusively guided by a religious belief that says that all life is sacred.  You know, except when God is commanding his armies to kill children and rip open the bellies of pregnant women.  Then murder is A-okay.  But let’s not get into the hypocrisy of Christianity.  That conversation would never end.

However, this is where something that I strongly believe in comes into play.  See, mama didn’t raise no hypocrite.  I find it funny that free speech has gone from being a liberal issue like back during the Red Scare when people were fighting against McCarthy and his witch-hunts, who argued that free speech and a free press was the cornerstone of a functioning democracy and should be cherished.  Because free speech isn’t designed to protect the majority opinion.  That doesn’t need protecting.  It is designed to protect the minority opinion.  And here’s where I am going to annoy some of my more liberal-minded contemporaries – the opinion that God hates abortion and it is evil and should be outlawed is a minority opinion in the US.  Overall, society in this country is cool with abortion and thinks that it should be legal for those who want to partake.  They believe that women should have dominion over their own bodies.  That’s good.  No joke, I’m glad that that’s the case.  So the demonstration I saw tonight is a minority opinion (dumb as it is) that is being exercised by people who have it.

So when someone came to me on the phone tonight and said, “dude, I wish I could blow those fuckers up,” I decided to stand tall to that person and say that that is a really stupid way to view things.  The reality is that I vehemently disagree with everything those idiots with the signs were saying.  However, I would fight another person who wanted to take away that right to the death for their right to speak their ridiculous bullshit.  I refuse to be a hypocrite.  I refuse to join a group of people who want to suppress another group’s opinion, even if I believe that they are completely wrong and it says a lot about their character for having that opinion.

I stopped believing in God because I stopped seeing things as us vs. them.  I got rid of this dogmatic part of me that wants to follow an ideology blindly.  Now I see my brethren on the left seeing it as totally cool to demonize people on the right and shut down their speech.  After all, their speech might hurt people’s feelings!  Or spread “dangerous ideas!”  We can’t have that!  If something offends something that the Supreme Leader says, then that thing must be stopped!  We must take to the streets!  Burn their books!  Shut down their speech because we don’t approve!  If they don’t conform to our way of thinking, put them in camps!  Some gross hyperbole mixed in with things that these people think.  But here’s something that really gets to me when thinking about it –

For some of these, can you honestly tell which is which?

RE: Regretting My Abortion: I Wish I Didn’t Have the Right to Choose

Well, I was sitting on my Facebook page, a little bored, when I came across this little gem of an article.  Now, I have gone after Life Site News before, whenever they post something dumb that I can mock and ridicule to death for how stupid it is.  This is an article that I genuinely thinks doesn’t understand reality.  For real, real life is totally missing from this person’s comprehension.  It’s amazing.  That said, here is a link to the article, and let’s go.

Kathy and I go way back. In fact, she was my best friend in elementary school. We had no idea while singing karaoke and staying up late at slumber parties the pain we would go through as adults.

Oh god, not another one of these article.  It already has a pretentious beginning, immediately designed to get to a person’s emotional centers.  I can see that this article is going to be fair.  But, if you don’t believe that, get a load of what comes next.

But we also had no idea how God would use our brokenness for His glory. I’ve been amazed at Kathy’s heart for Jesus, passion for her family, and vigor for empowering other women.

Wow.  Subtle.  Oh, and for the point that Jesus empowers women or some shit, yeah, take at the Bible.  The misogyny of that document is well-known.  It is no mystery that this is not only not a good book to live by, but it is a book that openly hates women.  So, Kathy’s love for Jesus must be a self-loathing thing.  Sucks for her.  Hopefully she can escape it at some point.

Recently, she sent me this message. As I sat weeping at my computer over her pain and loss, her sweet baby, and the goodness of a savior who will make all things new, I knew it needed to be shared. And Kathy, in her immense courage, is allowing me to share her story publicly for the first time in her own words…

Well, this must be quite a story.  I am bracing myself for it.  Obviously, this is going to be a story of a lot of emotional introspection, rational self-debate, and fair-minded discourse that leads to the person growing and becoming better, right?

I feel God pulling at my heart stings to tell the truth about abortion. I want to reach those who feel they have no other choice than their “right to choose.”

Wait, what?  How does that work?  How do you have this logical disconnect not to see the problem with the sentence “I want to reach those who feel they have no other choice than their ‘right to choose.'”?  I mean, that is among the dumbest sentences that I have ever come across.  This is ridiculously stupid.  When one has a choice, they don’t have any forces restricting their choices.  They can choose to either have an abortion, or not to have one.  And if the argument is being made here that she is being pressured by society into getting one, I call bullshit.  Here in America, getting an abortion is EXTRAORDINARILY stigmatized.  Women who do that are called “whores” and “sluts” by the pro-life community all the time.  Aren’t they so nice?  So yeah, this is patently dumb.  But let’s continue.

You are one of a few people that I have shared this story with. God is calling me to share it with more but I am nervous and scared. The truth is I have been carrying around a deep dark secret. Carrying it on my back, and dealing with it all alone because of what the consequences are if people were to hear the truth. The truth is I no longer care what others think. The truth is I know there are others out there like me, suffering alone when they don’t have to. The truth is…God is calling me to speak out.

Ugh, this is patently stupid!  So, you have a secret, but you needed Jesus to tell it?  And the title already says what your secret is.  If you are one of these self-loathing women (who you have to be in order to buy this Christian bullshit) who is big into God, I get why you are doing that.  And ironically, while you say above that the pressure is on girls to get an abortion, it is almost like here you are acknowledging that the pressure is against those who actually get one.  The logical disconnect is amazing.

The truth is when I was 19 years old I got pregnant. Upon telling my parents; they decided that I would get married. We began to plan a very quick wedding. The boy I was dating at the time turned out to be abusive. He was from an abusive home and had his father had brutally beaten his first wife in front of her two sons. The first time this boy threw me to the ground while I was pregnant I knew there was NO WAY I was going to allow this cycle to repeat. I broke off the engagement and began looking into adoption. I was only 19 and I knew I wasn’t ready to be a mom.

Wow, aside from the asshole parents, who have control over your life when you’re 19 (seriously?!  This makes the concept of daddy’s girl that much more…pathetic), and the ugly situation, you seem to have handled this pretty rationally.  You knew you weren’t ready to be a parent, so you did what you had to do.  What’s the problem?

When I told him I wanted to make an adoption plan, that I knew that was the best choice for us and the baby, he became very angry. Threatening, yelling, and screaming, he told me no one would EVER take the mother of his child or his child away from him. He wouldn’t allow it – that we WOULD be together. I became scared. Fear set in like I can’t even begin to explain. I realized that I could be a victim of abuse or I could save myself and my unborn child and choose to make this all disappear. I told him I had a miscarriage (which is what I told everyone else too).

Again, you were in a hopeless situation, and you did what you had to do.  What is the problem?  The title of this article seems to say that you regret this choice, or even being able to have this choice, but riddle me this – would you have rather been in the abusive relationship?  Would you have rather had this man able to hurt you and your fetus, or potential kid?  Is that what you want instead?  Hopefully, the answer is no, because that would be not only pathetic, but incredibly sad as well.

Walking into Planned Parenthood the smell of depression and hopelessness lay thick in the room.

Wow.  Unbelievable.  Yeah, set this up as a fair analogy.  It’s like there aren’t plenty of women who aren’t in a bad mood and are going there to get a breast examination or birth control pills.  They might be happy as a bunch of clams.  But nope.  That doesn’t fit your one-sided argument against abortion.

Yes, I could actually smell it. None of the women looked thankful that they had the “choice” to be there. They all looked empty. Broken. I felt it too. I had always said I would NEVER have an abortion. I was wrong. In my mind I believed it was the only “choice” I had at the time to protect myself and my unborn child from a life of fear and abuse. My name was called and I headed in the back. I was scared and alone.

This is so patently ridiculous!  Yeah, all the women in there were depressed and miserable.  And you know this…because you could “smell” it?  I bet you that a girl who was raped by her father would be glad she had the “‘choice’ to be there.”  God, this is stupid!  This blatantly dumb!  It is like this article wants to pass Planned Parenthood off as an abortion machine.  Go in today for all your abortion needs!  We have it on a factory floor!  Bullshit!  Abortions account for less than 3% of all the services that Planned Parenthood provides.  This is so dumb!

I hear people talking about the right to “choose.” I wish like HELL I didn’t have the right to choose that day.I wish there had been counseling. I wish there had been adoption agencies out there trying to reach the youth. I wish THOSE things were easy access; NOT Planned Parenthood. I wish more than anything, ANYTHING, I could have taken away MY right to choose and allow my baby to have their right to choose life. I wish there was support out there for girls like me. And maybe there was…but Planned Parenthood was easy to find. Abortion is easy. Walk in, walk out. Done. Pregnant. Not Pregnant. Simple. Except…it’s NOT that simple. They forget to tell you about the rest of the story.

Where do I begin about how awful, stupid, and offensive this paragraph is?  First, if you think, for a minute, that getting an abortion is EASY, for any woman, you are too stupid to live!  I have a dear friend who had an abortion.  She was a teenager, in a bad relationship, and she got knocked up.  A lot like the rational side of this author, she knew that she couldn’t bring a baby into this world.  She was too young and not financially prepared to raise a child (have you ever noticed that the “pro-life” crowd is anti-welfare?  That makes sense…).  She told me that the decision to do that was the hardest decision that she has ever had to make, and it haunts her all the time making it.  But I guarantee you that she wouldn’t have regretted having the choice, because the moment we take that away, we condemn people like her, who are working hard for their future, to throw that all away, every time they make a mistake.  Fuck that!

Next, you wish there had been counseling?  For what?  To tell you about how you were in an abusive relationship, and the rational side of your brain came to the conclusion that you had no other choice.  Do you think that counseling would have stopped your abusive boyfriend/would-be husband?  Do you think counseling would have gotten you out of danger?  No!  You did what you had to do.  Stop being like Natalia and ditch this self-loathing bullshit.  It looks bad on you.

The truth is they don’t tell you about the memory you live with for the rest of your life. For awhile I was able to forget. I had to suppress the memory in order to survive MY right to live. But slowly the memory began to resurface. Back to the room…back to the smells…back to the empty eyes of broken women. Back to the face of the man that literally sucked life out of my body.

Yup, because all these women are totally dead inside, hating life.  Yeah, that’s fair and balanced (cough*bullshit*cough).

Abortion is not about choice. It’s about selfishness. It’s about desperation. And I can say that because I have had one. I have walked a mile in those shoes…and it’s a mile that never ends.

You know, lady, I had sympathy for your position at first.  Back then, had we met, I would have been very understanding.  But your position now, this bullshit, is pissing me off.  Yes, choosing to have control of your body is selfish.  Choosing to not condemn yourself to being a teenage mom is selfish.  Choosing not to become a slave to a dead-end life, that so many single teenage moms have, is selfish.  When I think about my friend, and what she told me about her decision to have an abortion, I just get so upset at this stupid bitch, because if she told this stuff to her, I would cold-cock her in the face.  Right on the jaw. Ugh!

Recently a friend asked me if I had ever named my baby. Immediately I thought, “No, because that would make it real!” Then the “fetus” would become human. Become a baby. But I knew in that moment I needed to acknowledge that my baby is real. I needed to mourn the loss of my child. I realized how deep the pain still ran from my right to “choose.” I began to pray that God would give me a name. A few weeks ago while driving in the car I heard God speak to me: “Her name is Joy.” Tears streamed down my face. It was a girl! I had had a daughter.

I can’t tell you how stupid this is!  Yes, God told you the name of your fetus daughter.  I can’t get over how dumb that is.  The one-sided nature of this article and how dumb it is to read…I can’t do it!  Let’s just keep going.  I need to end this.

Before that precious moment in the car, I randomly heard an audible whisper of mom. I will wake up in the middle of the night to mom and there is no one in the room. Washing my face I hear mom and look up…no one there. It has happened a number of times where I hear mom and there is no one around. Shortly after hearing “Her name is Joy,” I was washing my face in the bathroom and I heard the whisper again; mom. Then it hit me: it’s her! It’s Joy. This incredible RUSH came over me and I knew in that moment she was telling me It’s okay. I forgive you. I am here with Jesus waiting for you. I love you. And it’s okay. Since that realization I haven’t heard the voice again. But God has placed on my heart to share this story because I know I am not alone. I KNOW I am not the only woman sitting at Church or in Bible Study carrying this same burden. It’s the ONE thing that Christians don’t talk about other than to point a finger at someone and telling them its murder. I am not sure what God’s plan is for me with sharing this story. But I know that SOMEONE needs to hear it. So I am sharing it.

I have no words.  This is the stupidest thing ever.  I just don’t know what to say to something as dumb as that.  If you have thoughts, put them in the comments section.  I’d love to hear it.

If you have gone through the agony of abortion, you are not alone. And it’s OKAY to talk about it. We can’t heal unless we help each other carry our burdens. I have finally carried that baggage to the foot of the cross and left it there. I have been forgiven. Not only has God forgiven me but he has blessed me far beyond measure with four more beautiful children. And he’s placed it in my heart to help fight for moms and babies. For anyone out there that has suffered in silence, that has carried this burden on their back ashamed of the choice they made, please know you are NOT alone.

Finally!  The end of the article.  You know, it’s so easy for these Christian zealots to vilify Planed Parenthood.  They make such as easy mark.  Doing the hard stuff.  They give women affordable birth control.  They do affordable STD examination.  They do pregnancy tests.  They do so many services, and all trying to make it easier for women who are in a bad financial situation to take care of themselves, and you all have to make them into some kind of evil bastards.  You all suck!  This article is dumb!  And that’s all I have to say.

These People are NOT “Pro-Life!”

There was a bombing recently in Grand Chute, Wisconsin.  The bombing was against a Planned Parenthood clinic.  Thankfully, nobody was inside, and the clinic will be reopening soon.  The damage was rather minor.  Let’s be grateful that the people who made the bomb didn’t seem to know what they are doing.  But, that said, this is something that needs to be talked about in the most serious of ways.  The reason why is obvious – because the people (and I say that in the loosest sense of the word) who did this probably think that they are “pro-life.”

Now, this may seem a bit like a recycled argument, but honestly, what don’t these dumb-fucks get?!  I bet you a good chunk of money that the people who did this act believe that they are “pro-life.”  I bet that they wouldn’t have particularly cared if they had killed all of the people who would be there.

But Lucien, there was nobody in there!  They were trying to send a message!

What?!  What message was it going to send?  Get out of town or we’ll kill you?  When you are using explosive to tell your message, that’s what is heard.  And to be honest, it can’t be anything else.  You don’t blow up a building to not hurt people.  You could hurt the people in the building, the people in the street, anybody just passing by.  The number of people who could be killed by such an attack is almost too awful for words.  Or worse, maimed and mutilated for the rest of their lives.  That is what these people are basically saying.

This just pisses me off when I see shit like this, and the people who do this think that they are “pro-life.”  It’s the same kind of bullshit that is heard when these people kill doctors.  Of course, since most of these people have the brains of a brick, and didn’t listen past Bill O’Reilly, you’d think that George Tiller actually was killing babies.  But he wasn’t.  No, the killer didn’t listen beyond that, and a man was murdered because of a “pro-life” activist who thought that murder was the way to send a message that killing is wrong.

That brings me to another point – why aren’t the bulk of these people against the death penalty?  You are for life, but when it is a person who has committed a crime, we should kill them?!  How does that make sense in your head.  I had a guy I know say that these people killed somebody else.  So, it’s an eye for an eye.  Yeah, because that has worked out SO well throughout history, right?

I have two simple requirements of an actual “pro-life”r (they aren’t pro-life.  They are anti-choice) for me to take their position seriously.  1. They have to be against the death penalty, and anti-war, because those two things directly lead to the killing of people for no good reason.  2. They have to be for contraception, because that stops abortion from having to take place at all.  But most anti-choicers aren’t.  Because the fact is that people like them are not in this for the life (most of the time).  They are in it for power.  The Catholic church and other religious groups don’t like that women have control of their own bodies, and so they are naturally against anything that gives women the ability to have control of what they do.

Case and point – Rick Santorum, our little Catholic buddy.  After this clinic was fire-bombed, he decided to make a speech in Wisconsin talking about how this is Mitt Romney’s bad for actually endorsing Planned Parenthood.  Don’t believe me, check out the link above.  Here is a transcript –

There are a lot of other issues in this campaign, where the governor and I have been different.  The life issue.  The governor’s actually running ads out there suggesting that I’m not pro-life!  Where governor Romney and his family have actually contributed money to Planned Parenthood!

What a piece of shit.  What an absolute piece of shit.  This guy comes onto the national airwaves, after a clinic that is used to help people is bombed, and he decides to make this about how his opponent has been a funder of Planned Parenthood.  Is there no low that this guy won’t sink to?  I’m beginning to think – no, there isn’t.  He will say whatever he has to to get his equally bigoted base out there to the polls.

There is some comfort that for the most part, women aren’t buying into this bullshit.  In swing states, women under 50 in this country support Obama over Romney.  The reason why is obvious – they are younger, smarter, and probably not white, unlike their middle-aged counterparts who sit with their husbands at home and watch Fox News, thinking that they learned something today.

But coming back to this, anybody who thinks that domestic terrorism is something that a person who is in support of life does is an idiot.  And outright fucking idiot.  They are stupid in ways that I find difficult to comprehend.  There is no limit to these people’s stupidity, and that wouldn’t bother me, except that they are domestic terrorists.

I have said it before, and I’ll say it now that I have more respect for a mob hitman and a common serial killer than I do for these kinds of people.  The mob hitman has a reason for his work – to make money.  He is trying to pay his bills, and he does the job he’s good at.  It makes at least some sense to me.  The serial killer has a mental defect, because he enjoys killing.  Again, it’s twisted and horrible, but I understand it.  Meanwhile, these people think that by potentially killing other people, and blowing up a building, they are setting some kind of example.

Well, you are, pro-lifers like the bomber.  You are setting the example that domestic terrorism is okay so long as it is for your ideals.  Tell me – what exactly sets you apart from the Muslim terrorists who drove two planes into the Twin Towers?  I went there!  What makes you better than them?!  You could have killed countless people.  It was entirely possible for you to have done horrible damage.  Don’t you dare make the argument that you didn’t kill anybody, when you could damn well have done so!  So, again, what makes you better than them?!

“Moral” Kombat!

Whenever an atheist like myself argues with a religious person who is very strong in their beliefs that my way of living is immoral, these conversations usually go one of three ways – 1. They will get unbelievably angry and storm off, 2. We will have a very level-headed discussion and usually agree to disagree, or 3. They will just say “I’ll pray for you,” and walk away.

I did a post yesterday about a video that has since been removed from YouTube by a woman named Dawn Hawkins.  It was a very vicious and attacking post, but for a good reason – she’s a racist and one of a million “moral” crusaders who wants to shove her ideological views down our throat.  My favorite vlogger, The Amazing Atheist also did an amazing video.  Now, I figure that was happened is because of his video rather than my post, because I’m a nobody on WordPress, but we both wanted the same thing.

We told our viewers and readers to go to the website Morality in Media’s contact page and send them a message.  We advised our viewers to keep it professional, and to attack the fact what they believe.  But what does this organization believe?

Well, they believe that porn is evil.  That it is aiding sex trafficking, exploiting women, and is destroying lives.  I pointed out how that is absolutely not true.  Porn has nothing to do with sex trafficking, and I invite anybody to prove otherwise.  But come prepared, because if you just rant, I can easily shut you down with the total lack of evidence.  For real, good luck finding any.  As for exploiting women, by the token, it is exploiting men.  There is no way that you could make the argument that it isn’t, because the fact is that women do a lot better in the porn industry than men.

Women typically get paid more, get more work.  And a refutation of how it isn’t exploiting them – these women have Twitter pages.  They are not in the shadows.  The names of the big porn stars are well-known here in America.  There are regulations of the industry, like about checking for STI’s and making sure the girls are over 18, and the bigger companies that make this stuff are very dedicated to following these rules because they don’t want to be shut down.

So, after TJ made the video and I made the post, what was Morality in Media’s response?  They shut their page down.  Where their page once was, there was this –

Morality in Media has been taken offline to prevent illegal access
by those who think pornography is harmless.

Pornography is NOT harmless and no matter how much you want
porn to be normal, it isn’t!

Your IP address is xxxxxxxxxx and has been recorded.

So, rather than have a discourse, these people choose to simply block us out, and make vague and pointless threats that are never going to go anywhere.  This was nothing but a worthless joke, and the punch line is that this is what the religious community does all the time.

These people are motivated by faith.  I haven’t met the atheist who thinks that they are a “moral” crusader.  I won’t say that they don’t exist, but I would be very surprised if they do.  Because most atheists have a moral system that doesn’t conform to this kind of thing.  Plus, what atheists always have is a belief that they don’t have to shove their beliefs down everybody else’s throats.

The fact is that these are just some of a group of people who have a very strange theory about how the world works.  You see, I don’t believe in ad hominem.  Your beliefs are engrained into who you are.  Your beliefs are part of what gets you there.  So the idea that you can attack a person without attacking their beliefs is ridiculous.  And these people have an antiquated belief system that is terrified of sex, sex organs, and wants to control how other people live their lives.

People like Rick Santorum, who wants to outlaw gay marriage, who wants to also get all porn off the internet, who wants to legislate his way into a woman’s uterus.  He wants all of these things.  These people are led by their belief in a supreme being, who they think is petty enough to care about the fact that somebody wants to get paid good money to fuck on film.

They want to be the moral arbiters of America.  It’s sick and delusional and pathetic.  they want to get rid of Planned Parenthood for no other reason than because it does abortions (and those only make up 3% of their business).  Not caring about all the damage it would do to low-income urban areas (have you ever noticed how white most of the “moral” crusaders are?) because the women there couldn’t get the medical aid that they need for things like breast cancer screenings.  These people also want to get rid of birth control.

Care to guess what they are?  They’re Catholic.  Hardcore Catholic.  A good portion of them, anyway.  They believe that their holy being, who is powerful enough to create the entire universe, cares who they are jumping into bed with and if they are not allowing all the sperm to impregnate women, who they obviously want barefoot and in the kitchen.  That is the religious ideology.

For the atheists like myself, who try to be open-minded, and believe in the freedom of choice, it is proof like no other than religion, the institution and the beliefs behind it at the most destructive element of society today.  People can make the argument that it is extremist factions of religion, but the fact is that if the fundamentals of the religion weren’t destructive, people at the extremes wouldn’t be like this.

Religion has never given anything good to society.  Religious people have done great things, like Isaac Newton, Galileo Galilei, and Charles Darwin.  They rewrote scientific understanding of things as we know it.  But the institution has never done anything great for society.

I call them “moral” crusaders because while they will fight for what they believe are moral values, they don’t even bother to look at the fact that there is blatant hypocrisy within the religious spectrum.  Moses slaughter families and was given young girls are trophies for his men to rape.  Concubines weren’t all that uncommon for the religious kings of the Bible.  Fucking servants wasn’t all that uncommon either.  While these people will fight to get porn off the internet, they apparently haven’t read their own book enough to understand their hypocrisy.

So, Morality in Media is one of the first group.  They didn’t want to discuss things.  They simple angrily shut down their site, and didn’t even allow discussion.  They are cowards who don’t want to defend their views, just to try and shut down all opposition.  And isn’t that just like religion?  When they can’t defend their arguments against the facts, they just say, “I’ll pray for you,” and walk away.

We rational people are not impressed, and since Morality in Media won’t step up and defend themselves, I will give them one last message –

You are cowards.  Fuck you.

Until next time, a quote,

“What you really need to tell them is – You’re not the moral arbiters of America.  You don’t get to impose your shitty, antiquated values on the rest of us!”  -TJ Kincaid, Moral Cowards

Hooking Kids on Sex! (Is Natural, but don’t tell these people that)

Oh man, it isn’t often that I can find a video that can make me laugh as much as this one does.  It is a video that was released by The American Life League.  This is a group pretty much cut from the same cloth as the American Family Association.  They are all a bunch of hardcore Christian fundies who don’t have anything better to do with their time.  Don’t believe me?  Well, they recently released a video, which I will link here, talking about how Planned Parenthood is planning on hooking children on sex.  Oh no!  But yeah, this is the most amusing piece of stupidity that I have seen in a long time.  I will do my usual routine of putting up their own words, so you know I’m not taking this out of context, and then giving my responses.  I hope you enjoy!

Do NOT let children watch this episode of the American Life League Report!

I recommend not letting anybody watch, but hey, let’s hear this idiot out.

When most people think of Planned Parenthood, they mostly think of the babies it kills with abortion.  Or the mountains of birth control it dispenses.

No, dumb-dumb, we think of all the health services that it renders to low-income families, like breast cancer screenings.  Only 3% of their expenses are related to abortion.  And by the way, pay attention to the second part of that.  We will be coming back to it later.

But another side to Planned Parenthood, that should be equally considered is its obsession with sex.

Here we go.  Trust me, it gets awesome from here.

Sex toys, sex contests, sex balloons, penis-shaped balloons, penis-shaped lollipops, penis cupcakes, vagina cakes, vagina macaroons, vagina Fruit Roll-ups, giant vagina costumes, all of these things play a central role in Planned Parenthood’s community activities.

Uh, no they don’t.  You just made that up.  You quite literally pulled it out of your ass.  And if you watch the video, you’ll see that this guy has a very special relationship with the word penis.  His voice has an upwards inflection that tells me that him and the penis, are very familiar.  But yeah, this is all bullshit.  Not two words of it are true.  Let’s keep going, though.  We’ve got a lot more ground to cover.

But what’s truly shocking, is how these perverts are allowed unfettered access to our children, while raking in government cash to sell them unrestrained sex.

What?  First, they are not funded solely by the government.  In fact, they are a non-profit organization that gets donations.  I guess you weren’t around to hear the bit about Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s pussy move ditching them.  Second, how can you sell somebody sex?  Are they selling them hookers?  Last I checked, sex was something you had to put some effort into getting.

Oh, Planned Parenthood will claim that what they teach kids is scientific and “age-appropriate.”  But the fact of that matter is that “age-appropriate” is a standard concocted by Planned Parenthood itself so that it can sell pornography to kids as science.

It must be fun to be this stupid.  The fact is that what Planned Parenthood teaches IS scientific (these people are hardcore Christian fundies.  I doubt any of them know what science is), and it is age-appropriate.

Why would they do this?  Just as the goal of a drug deal is to make drug addicts, Planned Parenthood’s goal is to make sex addicts.

(Long sigh into hands)  Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.  Again, it must be fun to be this stupid.

And they follow the same business model.

If only this man would listen when I tell him that you cannot possibly hook children on sex, because it has no addicting properties.  All sexual addiction is psychological.  But again, it’s science, and these are Christians.  Science has never been their strong suit.

For instance, Planned Parenthood’s gateway drug is masturbation.

(Brief pause for unrestrained laughter)

One of its primary resources for 10 year olds is a book called “It’s Perfectly Normal.”  And it sells masturbation to kids with graphic images of naked boys and girls, boys and girls masturbating, men and women having sex…if a dirty old man showed these things to a 10 year old kid in a park, he’d be arrested.

Two things, 1) that is a real book.  2) it isn’t for ten year olds.  That was just something that they made up.  And these books aren’t shown in parks.  They are in their sex-ed curriculum.  They are kept in classrooms, where they won’t just be shown to anybody.  And if all of America wasn’t filled with six year olds who are afraid of pussies and cocks, then we wouldn’t be having this dicussion.  Another wonderful thing Christianity is giving us.

But that’s just the start.  Once they get to high school, you know, right about the time that they hit puberty…

This idiot doesn’t realize that most kids hit puberty late in their middle school years.

…Planned Parenthood tells vulnerable teens to stimulating and intimate things about sex.

Oh my god, they might learn something!  OHHH!  It’s just the worst!  Oh wait, that’s right, it’s a good thing for kids to learn, because it is an awkward subject and a lot of kids can be frightened about it.  Fucking idiot.

Just look at what its website for teens says!  The link to “Our Bodies,” provides kids images to graphic genitals, and tells them about how pleasurable the clitoris is, and how pleasureable breasts are to touch (yes they are) and massage.

Oh my god, I’m going to pee.  This is hysterical beyond belief.  I am going through this entire video, so this post will be a little long, but if you want a good laugh, please, keep reading.  It just gets better and better.

This section, on sex and masturbation, encourages kids to masturbate, and tries to dispell and embarassment and hesitation in trying it.

The thing I love most about that quote is that he is openly admitting that he does want them to feel ashamed.  Of course, the idiot doesn’t come right out and say it, but read between the lines.  It’s all there.

It also describes orgasms and encourages anal sex and oral sex.

Describing orgasms, yeah.  Encouraging anal and oral sex, no, no it does not.  It merely tells any viewer what they want to know.  The funny part is that the video shows it, right on their screen, that it doesn’t, and these stupid fucks don’t even bat an incompetant eyelash.

This section, titled “LGBTQ,” tells teens “all sexual orientations are perfectly normal.”

Yay, he also proved he’s a bigot!  Congrats, man, I love when you wear bigotry on your sleeve!

The page on homosexuality, titled, “Coming Out,” displays a teenage boy, in an intimate post with what appears to be an adult man.

No, no it doesn’t.  There is a boy, but he is with what is clearly another teenage boy, and they aren’t being intimate, only leaning against one-another.  I love how it is literally shown, right there, and this dipshit doesn’t see it.  Classic brain FAIL.

This section, explains how to have gay sex, using a condom, dental dam, and even, plastic wrap.

Okay, it’s gotten a lot less funny.  By the way, the page this guy is on, doesn’t have almost any of that.  Maybe he just didn’t scroll down far enough, but if he is going to make a point, it helps to have your subject matter on screen when you are talking about it.

And, for their viewing pleasure, Planned Parenthood’s got a few things for teens to watch.

And I guarantee you that it is more informative that your dumbass video, buddy.  Watch the video.  Maybe it’s just my immature mind, or the fact that I have come to be pretty cool with intellectual videos discussing sexuality and how genitals work, but if this guy’s videos are accurate (and I wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t, because bald-faced lying isn’t unusual for him), they are kind of silly.

It’s bad enough that Planned Parenthood is conditioning children to engage in sexual activity with the kind of stuff that we’ve just shown you, but Planned Parenthood of Upper Hudson’s youth program, which includes children as young as 13 (they think if they say children, we won’t know that they are teenagers), requires children to be exposed to sexual deviancy on parade!  Literally! (as opposed to figuratively?)

This dumb-fuck is talking about Gay Pride parades.  And of course, just like all Christian fundies, he says they are bad, and of course, being gay is bad too.  Christians, I have a message for you when we get to the end of this.

Planned Parenthood of Upper Hudson’s application form for the S.T.A.R.S. (Start Talking Seriously About Sex) program for high school kids states that students, as young as 13, are required to attend Capital Pride.

Wow, what a crime, they are part of an organization that has a huge LGBTQ community and support network, so they show their support.  I am sure that the organization wouldn’t come after them with a fucking machete if a kid couldn’t make it, but I’m sure that escaped this idiot’s notice.  And you also will notice he makes a point about the younger groups, as if that makes this so much worse.

Capital Pride?

Note the italics.  Bigot inflection.  He goes on to show a series of photos and videos, as if to make his point about how awful this is.  There was no nudity, no orgies, just people being in support of gay rights.  Bigots be bigots.

Is it any wonder that one in four teenage girls has an STD?

Stop right there!  Fuck you!  Fuck you, you bigot asshole!  These people are trying to teach teenagers about safe sex, and what the fuck are you doing?!  These people are trying to prevent STI transmission, by having kids, who are going to have sex, no matter how hard you try to stigmatize them, you assholes, to have sex, learn about how to be safe when they are having sex.  Meanwhile, you Christian bigots are teaching intolerance, racism, bigotry, homophobia, and socially corrosive bullshit about a rib-woman and a talking snake.  Planned Parenthood does in one day more than you will ever do for the rest of your miserable fucking life!  Fuck you!

All this exposure to sex takes place before graduation from high school!

Again, inflection.  But here is something this idiot may not have known – most girls lose their virginity by the age of 16.  And by the way, it isn’t most atheist girls.  Most Christians girls are just the same.  And don’t even get me started on the teen pregnancy rates among the religious crowd.  I could pwn you into oblivion with that alone.

When these kids go to college, they’ll be bombarded with sex-themed parties put on by Planned Parenthood VOX groups.

These parties pass out safe sex kits, and other stuff like that.  The horror!  Keeping college students safe!

This is what Planned Parenthood is all about.  Get the kids addicted to sex, so you can sell them birth control.  When teens catch a sexually transmitted disease, it sells them testing services.  And when a young girl gets pregnant, it sells her an abortion.

Ugh.  I’m getting tired of writing.  It was fun at first, but now it’s offensive.  First, their HIV and AIDS tests are free.  Their HPV vaccines are free for those between the age of 19 to 26.  Emergency Contraception is free for those under 17.  And the bulk of their other servies, like breast screenings and things like that are based on a sliding scale, depending on how much the person makes.  These people want to help, unlike this asshole, who wants women to hurt.

This isn’t education, this in indoctrination intended to drum up Planned Parenthood’s abortion business.

Which only is 3% of their total fees, per year.  Fucking idiot.

Help us break the cycle.

Yes, let’s do that.  Help us keep these Christian fundies in the intellectual trash can where they belong!

You know, it isn’t often that something gets under my skin the way that this has.  First – have you noticed that the more options that women have to avoid having to have an abortion, the louder the opposition becomes?  They will lie, fabricate, exacerbate, and just pull shit out of the air whenever it suits them.  And why?  So that they can get rid of an organization that is the lifeline of low-income neighborhoods, teen boys and girls who are scared and confused, LGBTQ youth and groups, and many others.

These assholes are trying to destroy one of the few legitimately decent organizations there is, and all because their Gawd tells them to.  No better reason.  This is for all of those who think that religion does no harm.  And for Christians who are with this guy, two words – Fuck you!  Not even kidding, not even a joke – Fuck, you!

Until next time, a quote,

“Look, you see their agenda too, they’re not just against abortions, they’re against birth control…What’s wrong with birth control?  99% of Americans use it, right?”
“Don’t you want to prevent abortions?”  -The Young Turks, Hilarious Anti-Planned Parenthood Video

Peace out,
