So, there was this article on Buzzfeed where a guy asked 22 creationists at the Bill Nye/Ken Ham debate what they would ask to the other side. Since I went after how badly Bill Nye mopped the floor with Ken Ham, now I’m going after them. Enjoy.
Are you influencing the minds of children in a positive way?
Yes, he is.
Are you scared of a Divine Creator?
Uh, no. Since I have seen ZERO compelling evidence that one exists, I’m not. If one does, I mean to give it the finger for creating a world as fucked-up as ours and not lifting a hand to make it better.
Is it completely illogical that the earth was created mature? i.e. trees created with rings, Adam created as an adult…
Yes, yes it is.
Does not the Second Law of Thermodynamics disprove Evolution?
I’ve already done a post debunking this (linked here), so I’m just going to say that no, it doesn’t. Let’s move on.
How do you explain a sunset if there is no God?
Well, it involves solar rays contrasting with all the shit that we put into the air. For real, as beautiful as sunsets are, we take for granted that their beauty comes from our waste, along with the natural toxins that get into the air. At least, a lot of it does. Just putting that out there.
If the Big Bang Theory is true and taught as science along with evolution, why do the laws of thermodynamics debunk said theories?
I just talked about this. Moving on.
What about noetics?
What about them? We’re talking science here, not philosophy.
Where do you derive objective meaning in life?
I’ve always found this idea that there is some objective meaning in the random-ass chaos in life peculiar. Did my girlfriend dying in a car wreck have an objective meaning? Did your grandmother or grandfather’s death from cancer have a meaning? Life doesn’t have an objective meaning. It means whatever the fuck you want to mean. That’s the whole point of individuality. We all come to our own conclusions. Don’t like that? Too bad.
If God did not create everything, how did the first single-celled organism originate? By chance?
Why is that so hard to buy? How it is easier to believe that it all originated from a sky-patriarch who left no evidence of his existence other than a book that straight-up rips off stories from other religions (*cough*Jesus!*cough*). Yes, it all is chance. It’s blind luck that we all ended up here as a tiny film on the surface of this planet. In a universe of hundred of billions of galaxies and countless trillions of stars and a googleplex of planets, you really think that chance is just too impossible to rationalize? The arrogance of that astounds me.
I believe in the Big Bang Theory. God said it, and BANG, it happened!
That’s not even a question.
Why do evolutionists/secularists/humanists/non-God believing people reject the idea of there being a creator God but embrace the concept of intelligent design from aliens or other extra-terrestrial sources.
Uh, can I have some examples of people who believe this? From where I’m sitting that sounds pretty fucking crazy. Although, crazy as it is, it has more credibility than God. After all, since life emerged here, the chances that it didn’t elsewhere is impossible. For real, there is NO way that we are alone in this universe. Just sayin’.
There is no inbetween…
The only one found has been Lucy and there are only a few pieces of the hundreds necessary for an “official proof.”
Ah, the “missing link” bullshit. I figured that this would come up. Turns out, the whole thing about there being this one point where early humanoids went from apes to man is a lot longer than it sounds. For more, check out this link.
Does metamorphosis help support evolution?
Uh…you lost me, kid. As a metaphor, maybe? Like is a caterpillar’s evolution into a butterfly like evolution? If that’s what you’re asking, then the answer is no. Evolution is nowhere near that direct. It’s a slow and very gradual process. It takes thousands upon thousands of generations for speciation to occur.
If Evolution is a Theory (Like creationism or the Bible) why then is Evolution taught as fact?
I am SO sick of this argument! You idiots seem incapable of learning anything, so here I’ll say again – you are confusing a Theory with a hypothesis. See, in a hypothesis, you have an assumption and no proof to back it up. In a Theory, you have tested and gotten a large amount of evidence and come to a conclusion based on what you have tested and observed. However, since you cannot be certain beyond any doubt, you cannot call it a Law. See, in a Law, you have proven something to the point where doubt is no longer present. It’s the same reason that gravity is “just a Theory” too. Can you imbeciles at least TRY and get that through your heads?
Because science is by definition a theory “- not testable, observable or repeatable.” Why do you object to creationism or intelligent design being taught in school?
Is that what you think a Theory is? Alright, I’m going to beat you over the head with a dictionary definition.
the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another
Did you catch that? Facts. You obtain facts through research. Research that can be tested, retested and tested again, so as to be sure that there is not a flaw in the data. Scientific data is among the most heavily scrutinized in the world. Just look at the fucktards who are constantly trying to prove that climate change in a myth. They will pick apart every sentence of every piece of data with a fine-toothed comb so as to not have to admit guilt. Your views of science are so ass-backward that it hurts.
What mechanism has science discovered that evidences an increase of genetic information seen in any genetic mutation or evolutionary process?
You just said it – mutation.
What purpose do you think you are here for if you do not believe in Salvation?
That’s it? That’s what you think you’re here for? I don’t believe there is a purpose to living, but if finding “Salvation” is the best that you’ve got then that is a pretty fucking sad existence. I believe that life is about finding fulfillment as a person, however you chose to do it. Whether it be through having kids, enjoying what you enjoy or whatever. It is what you choose for it to be. Finding “Salvation” is so lesser in the scope of how powerful that is.
Why have we found only 1 “Lucy” when we have found more than one of everything else.
This again? You have NO idea how incomplete the fossil record is, do you? The reality is that with tectonic activity and countless other natural events, there are countless species that we will NEVER know existed on this planet. We have so few fossils of all the creatures that lived on this Earth that you wouldn’t believe. It’s part of what makes what we have found that much more impressive. As for the whole “Lucy” thing, we’ve already talked about that, so yeah, next.
Can you believe in the big bang without faith?
Uh, yeah. Actually, this theory of the origin of the universe is but one of many. I keep an open mind, save the Young-Earth Creationist bullshit that science has already debunked. The evidence gives us a good indication that the Big Bang was the event that began the universe, but it could go into any number of ways. The whole point of my “belief” is that I have evidence. Faith is believing in something without evidence. Totally different animal.
How can you look at the world and not believe that someone Created/thought of it? It’s Amazing!!!
That only covers the good stuff like sunsets, rainbows and boobies. There are a fuck-ton of other things that you have to account for with that –
Starving people in nations that have no way out
An asteroid being able to wipe us all out at any second
Where was all the goodness then?
Relating to the big bang theory – where did the exploding star come from?
More science education for dumb people. It wasn’t an exploding star. It was all matter and energy in the universe compressed into a single place as energy. As to where that came from, there are any number of possibilities. Science always trying to find the answer to that question.
If we come from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?
Obvious troll is obvious.
And that is my pwnage of stupid people for the day. Have fun?
Until next time, a quote,
“I understand that you take the Bible, as written in English, translated many many times over the last three millennia as to be a more accurate, more reasonable assessment of the natural laws we see around us than what I and everybody in here can observe. That, to me, is unsettling.” -Bill Nye
