Bryan Fischer: Uber Christian Bigot and Rick Perry’s Best Friend

It is a big story among the rational and sane community about the lovely affront to the First Amendment (not because he is doing it, but because it is nothing more than official state-endorsed religion) that is going to go down in Houston, Texas.  The Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, is going to have a huge event go down in the Reliant Stadium.  He is trying to get people from all over the country to gather and to pray to God (the Christian God) to solve America’s problems because in his mind, they are “too big” for us dumbass Americans to fix.

So, this “Free Prayer Rally” is Perry’s shindig.  Let’s look beyond the fact that this is an American governor who is holding a prayer event as a state-endorsed event.  Never mind his previous venture which was also a spit in the face of the First Amendment – the “Pray for Rain Day.”  Let’s look beyond all of that and look at this particular issue from another perspective – who is backing it?  The group that is also behind this little soiree is The American Family Association.  One of their champion radio hosts is one of the most spectacular Christian bigots that I have ever seen.  For real, Mike Voris looks tame when compared to this guy.

It should be obvious from the world “Family” in their organization’s title that the first thing they are against is homosexuality.  And Bryan Fischer, their biggest radio host friends and also the director of the AFA’s “Issue Analysis for Government and Public Policy” (I know, it sounds really important, but in all truthfulness, it is just hopeless nonsense), is one of the chief champions of homophobic bigotry.  He also hates all kinds of groups.  I am going to give a bunch of quotes and I will comment on each of them and we will get to see what kinds of people Rick Perry, a Governor in America and also a person who believes his role in government is as an army of clergy, is in bed with.  Here are some choice quotes from his radio show called “Focal Point”, and my thoughts along the way.

Do not tell me that we cannot enforce laws against profanity, laws against blasphemy, law against misusing the Lord’s name.  If we can punish somebody for using ‘F’ word, then you can punish somebody for taking the name of God in vain!”

First off, you can’t punish somebody for saying FUCK (I believe in profanity, I really do).  You can fire a person for that, but only because it is unprofessional in the workplace.  You cannot take legal action against a person for saying FUCK.  And second – First Amendment!  No state-endorsed relligion, you moron!

It’s just like Islam, it’s just like the Nazis.  With the Homosexual Lobby, there is no place for freedom of speech.  There is no place for differences of opinion.  There is no place for tolerance.  It is absolutely, utterly intolerant.”

The irony in this statement is almost too obscene for words.  How many Christians get in the face of members of the LGBT community and quote bible verses at them while telling them they are going to burn in Hell?  How many Christians get in the face of atheists like me and tell them they are going to burn in Hell?  Tolerance is an issue to this fucktard?!  That is almost too amazing for words.

God has set boundaries for nations.  These borders are not random, they’re set by God.  In fact, we discovered that in American history.  We tried a number of times to invade Canada and we couldn’t do it!”

Okay, my American history is a tad bit rusty, but when exactly did all of these multiple invasions of Canada occur?  For one thing, there has never been a major disagreement between Canada and the US.  We have never been at war with Canada.  This is so dumb it hurts!  And as for God making that borders of nations, here’s a funny question – what about Africa?  The British just divided up that nations without thinking.  Part of the big political problem with Africa is that their borders were just drawn on a map and are not relevant to the various tribes and groups who live there.  Just more stupidity from a Christoholic.

The Bible teaches us that a change in sexual orientation is possible.  This is a biblical principle.  It is a biblical proclamation.  It is a biblical assertion.”

Yeah, that is just stupid.  I think we all know why (for you Christians without brains [I am fully aware that isn't all of you, but some], it is because you are born gay!)

I am convinced that the number one group, the number one class of people who are committing hate-crimes today are homosexual activists.”

Yeah, those homosexuals are just out there beating people up in the street!  They are raping and murdering women because they are straight!  They are doing all kinds of sick shit to guys because they are straight too!  All straight people should be afraid of them in their stylish pumps and tasteful outfits.  Those psychotic bastards!  Moron…

You’re going to have the homosexual lobby committing one hate-crime after another against service members, especially officers who have deeply held religious convictions about the acceptability of homosexual behavior!”

His thoughts about repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.  More ignorant stupid bullshit.  Yeah, I’m sure a serviceman or woman is pretty bitter, but guess what, people are generally decent and the LGBT community has not even anything resembling the amount of dirt the rest of the world has in regards to hate-crimes.  It doesn’t even compare.  This is just ridiculous, but it shows how he is trying to use pathetic emotional-based arguments to get people to attack another group, not caring if they are factual or not.

I’ve never called gay people terrorists, but I have said that what they have done is like domestic terrorism.”

WHAT?!  Is this crazy bastard serious?  So they are blowing up buildings like the Oklahoma City Bomber did?  They are flying planes into buildings?  They are shooting up schools?  How exactly is people wanting to be left alone and be able to love the person they love anything like domestic terrorism, you conceited bigot?!

This is a lifestyle of which participants ought to be ashamed, ought to be embarassed.”

And why does he say that?  Because his Gawd commands him to.

The Nazi Party was formed, ladies and gentleman, in a gay bar, and historians agree.  Hitler’s earlies enforcers, the stormtroopers, the brown shirts, were almost, without exception, homosexuals.”

There needs to be a movement to villify dipshits like this.  This guy’s bigotry is almsot on a shocking level.  This is absolutely incredible.  But what is more incredible than anything else is that Rick Perry is saying that he endorses this kind of bigotry.  Or if he doesn’t openly endorse it, he turns a blind eye to it.

And it is this reason more than any other which is why I say that I think Christianity is a socially corrosive belief system.  We have a guy who is trying to do what the Pope did a little while ago.  The Pope said that Hitler was an atheist, and atheists are evil because Hitler was one of them.  Yeah, and several Popes throughout history have overseen, sometimes personally, the slaughter of innocent people.  Does that mean that all Popes are evil?  And here we have Fischer saying that all Nazis were gay.

Are these the kinds of people you are associating with, Rick?  Are these people your kinds of people?  And for all of America – do you want a person who condones this kind of bigoted behavior leading this country?!  He may make a Presidential run in 2012.  Do you want him in the White House?

I really hope not.

Until next time, a quote,

“It’s not hate-speech.  It’s the truth!  It’s freedom!  Apart from when you criticize him, then it’s hate speech.  It’s a hate-crime when you criticize him.  He’s saying is the truth.  The gays, the Nazis and the Muslims.  Fuck you, Rick Perry!”  -Richard Coughlin, The Free Hate Rally

Christian Fundamentalist Bigotry Makes You A Better Politician?!

I had written in length about a pledge that Michelle Bachmann, and now Rick Santorum signed.  It was done by a group called “The Family Leader.”  They are a very hardcore Christian Fundamentalist group who has a very firm belief that homosexuality is a choice and a public health risk (because of all the gay you get on you when you are around them, of course.  Second-hand gay).  They also think that pornography is wrong (something about preserving women’s purity.  Tell that to MTV) and should be banned outright.  And since they think that homosexuality is wrong, gay marriage is of course not even within the realm of thought.  This group is nothing but a bunch of bigots, but a position that they have is very interesting.

We believe that the candidates’ position on core values, such as marriage, correlate directly to his/her moral stances on energy issues, sound budgeting policies, national defense, and economic policies.”

That was from an article on ThinkProgress.org, and also talked about in a video by GrapplingIgnorance about Michele Bachmann taking this pledge.  And his reaction is the same as mine when I heard this – WHAT?!  They actually believe that being against gay marriage and for their bigoted fundamentalist values instantaneously makes on a better politician?  Really?!  They believe that if you are against something as arbitrary as gay marriage, you are suddenly better at all these other areas.

Now, I think the Bible is not even slightly good as a moral backbone for anything, but that is just my belief.  It is a belief that I have held for some time.  The Old Testament God had not problem with murder, genocide, torture, had a very lax punishment for rape, and really didn’t care at all about the fate of people who weren’t his “chosen children.”  I wouldn’t want anybody taking their cues from that guy.  Especially that bit where he commanded one of his armies to tear open the bellies of prenant women and to dash the heads of their enemies against stone.  Yeah, that guy is somebody that NOBODY should follow under any circumstances.

But to make the contention that being religious instantly makes you a better politician, that is just insane!  But let’s take a nice LONG look at some big historical politicians who were lead by their religion primarily.

The first we’ll start with is George Bush (Jr. not Sr.).  He once said, “I believe God wants all men to be free, and that is part of my foreign policy.”  Wow, so, God wanted you to go into two countries and rashly attack them without a plan.  I like Bill Maher’s bit in his stand-up special I’m Swiss where he said, “we didn’t think we needed a plan!  We thought, ‘we’re Americans.  We’re spreading freedom!  We’re spreading freedom-dust!.”  It was the stupidest decision and now it has not only massively ballooned our military budget, but we can’t seem to get ourselves out of these wars and the God’s Own Party says we have to keep funding this pointless campaigns.

That not a good enough example?  Perhaps something a little bit more recent.  Ever hear of Gov. Rick Perry (R-Tx)?  He is apparently the big front-runner for a Presidential run with the big Republican movers and shakers.  He has been a bumper-crop of religious zealotry.  From his lovely idea for a “Pray for Rain Day,” to his most recent exploit which is going to be happening on August 6th where he will cram as many people as he can into the Reliant Stadium so that people can all pray for America’s problem to end.  I think another YouTuber, TJ Kincaid (aka. TheAmazingAtheist) made the best point about this one.

Isn’t it gonna be embarrasing when none of these problems magically whisk themselves away?!”

Not only is what Perry is doing an affront to the First Amendment, but he actually believes that God had given him this job as a Governor to spread his message.  He wanted to go into the clergy, and now he thinks that his job as a state Governor is his arm from God.  It is so pathetically bias and absolutely ridiculous.

But his belief that government should be an army of the clergy isn’t all that original.  Michele Bachmann has said on mulitple occasions how she believes that she gets visions from God which guides her actions.  Sarah Palin has also done the same (of course, she is not going to make a run at the 2012 elections, and we all know it.  She has been raising all that money to save for herself).  They both believe they are getting magically told by their unholy invisible father-figure what to do.

And Bachmann is an especially interesting case.  Everybody can talk up and down about how her husband is so against being gay and for praying it away, but every comedian who follows politics has brought up the fact that he looks so incredibly gay.  We don’t need to make that point, even though any guy who would see him on the street would think that he is as gay as a picnic basket.  People don’t have to attack that, even though you can envision him with another man so easily because he just as a look of a man who is comfortable having another man inside of him.  We don’t have to take that road.

But even given that her husband looks so gay, the fact that she would sign this pledge says that she beliefs this stupid-ass schtick.  She believes that you are made more knowledgeable about the issues by signing this pledge of absolute bigotry.  Yeah, your position on marriage makes you more knowledgeable about national security?!  What the fuck?!  This is face-palm on a whole different level.  This is absolutely epic.  Epic stupidity that is endorsed by America because people say to themselves “oh, that’s their belief, their religion.”

Yet if an atheist came out and said that because they are an atheist, they are better at running this country, the backlash would be massive.  So the greater farce is how America is so blind and so dumb that insanity like this is just dismissed as part of normal everyday life.  How this is acceptable.  No, wrong!  It is wrong to believe that anybody is better at something just because of their moral beliefs.  That is insane!  And because people are willing to go along with it, it gets even more insane by default.

Grow up, America.  These people are crazy.

Until next time, a quote,

“As a species we are fundamentally insane.  Put more than two of us in a room together and we start thinking up reasons to kill one-another.  Why do you think we invented politics and religion?”  -Ollie Weeks, The Mist

Is it Now Guilty Until Proven Innocent?

I have recently been reading a new book by one of my favorite authors who I haven’t read much of lately.  He is a brilliant legal writer, and I think he is one of the best that is in my generation.  His books are about the hard topics, the ones that really get people to thinking.  His books are about the cases, the social issues, and the concepts that don’t appear much in legal shows.  They often tackle some pretty gnarly stuff.  There is a very good reason that he is one of my favorite authors.  And this new book that I am reading is in that same trend of hard-hitting social issues.

It also got me to thinking about something that is pretty big in the modern legal system and I am starting to see more and more evidence of in this country.  It is making history with different things look almost tragic.  It is making me question a lot more, and not in the humored way of looking at the oddness of society with a sense of humor, but with a tragic reminder that history is often a lie, told by the people who want it to be a certain way.

When Fox News rewrites history to suit their agenda, people don’t scoff.  But when the law tries to rewrite history, that is a crime.  And what’s more, the fact that people are content to ignore the principles on which this nation was founded on is even worse.  After watching the absolute farce that was the Casey Anthony trial, some interesting comments were made.  That coverage was such a joke.  Yeah, somebody was murdered.  Tell me the verdict, or don’t.  I don’t give a damn what the woman was wearing, what her hair was like, what the look was like on her face.  The media fucked up here.  But after the trial was over, there were some interesting reactions.

This nation’s legal system was founded on the belief that a person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  It is a center of our country that was supposed to show the rest of the world that we are better than the people who just make a big show of being fair, yet they simply choose to ignore the truth.  There was that big show-trial in China after the incident in Tiananmen Square.  This is a common occurence in China.  They make a big show of being fair, yet everybody knows that the minds of the legal system were already made up before it began.

This is a practice that America has condemned and we have made a big effort to make the rest of the world understand that we are not like that.  However, a very common modern practice (Post 9/11) is to not even care about the guilt or innocence of a person at all.  What’s more, the American people don’t even seem to care.

In the state of Ohio a cop can pull you over without even clocking you on his speedometer.  He can just use “rule of thumb” to determine your guilt.  And of course, the law is automatically on his side.  Bradley Manning was being held in a prison without being convicted, or even charged, with a crime.  This country has prisons in other countries so the normal process of the law can be avoided.  Due process, rights of the accused, all of that be damned, we will hold people in prison for no damn reason and the courts can be used against the people at any time.

After the Casey Anthony trial, as as brilliantly pointed out by a YouTube named Zinnia Jones, there was a statement made by Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) that this trial proved by terror suspects shouldn’t be tried in civilian courts.  Instead, they should be tried in military courts because there is a bigger likelihood of them being found guilty.

We just found with the Caylee Anthony case how difficult it is to get a conviction in a US court.”

Apparently, military commissions are much more useful to get convictions of terrorist suspects.  Gee, I wonder why?  And of course, the modern statement that the Casey Anthony case was not resolved the way that it was supposed to be is just another example of how personal bias has influenced modern culture.

Here’s a nifty little fact for you - people expect court cases to display evidence like CSI kind of stuff, but the fact is that very few cases are like that.  In inner-city low-income areas, they are non-existant.  It is a horrible lie that people have been given by the media that murder trials are all using incredible forensic evidence to make a conviction.  If that were the case, then why would almost all major cities have a very low clearance rate of murders, rapes, you name it.

The fact is that the law in this country is hopelessly underfunded, like every other area of infrastructure in this country.  As such, when people realize that there is really no way that case can be proven beyond any doubt, things become a lot more complicated.  And also there is the fact that legal corruption is rampant in this country.  Somebody or other once said, “9 out of ever 10 Supreme Court case isn’t solved in the courtroom, it’s solved on the golf course.”  What is sad is that the metaphor is apt.  It may not be a golf course, but it is almost never solved in a courtroom.

And ever since The Patriot Act and the modern treatment of terror suspects and how the media and the general public paints them all to be guilty before they even step into a courtroom, my question is – are people now guilty until proven innocent?  You hear all the time after a trial is over, “Oh I knew he was guilty!”  And you hear before a trial begins, “That man’s gonna burn!”

What is worrying me most is that suspected terrorist trials are going to turn into show-trials.  I am worried that all that Lady Justice stood for is going to be washed away in a mess of bureaucracy and bigotry.  McConnell want a place where people are naturally proven guilty, because it is what he wants.  That isn’t an attitude this nation needs, nor can it afford.

Justice, real justice, cannot afford it.

The Dentist and Christian Rock Music

If there is one thing that sucks more than having to go to the dentist for what you KNOW is going to be a painful procedure, it is having to go into the dentist for what you know will be a painful procedure and then having to sit in the lobby and suffer through all of that Christian rock music.  That really adds insult to injury.  It is the worst possible thing in all of history.  It is an insult to all forms of good music having to listen to that dreck.  No good music ever came from the words “Christian rock.”  When the word was invented, it just lost the ability to be good.

GrapplingIgnorance made a really great video about the topic of Christian music.  The basic point is – it all sucks.  Really, all of it.  There isn’t a single piece of good Christian music that has ever been made.  Having grown up in the Lutheran church, I got to listen to the endless series of dirges that came from that musically not-so-inclined place.  It was all so depressing.  Then there is the polar opposite of that.  The girl on “Jesus Camp” said it best, that if you don’t sing loud and lively about what a great guy God is then he will hate you and he will send you to Hell (the worst sales gimmick in all recorded history).

So that is the polar extremes.  There are the Catholics, Lutherans, and other such people who have dirge music, and there are the Evangelicals and African-American churches (some, not all) where they are going crazy and shouting to their savior how much they like the guy.  And on both extremes, the music SUCKS!  I remember as a small child desperately waiting for it to be over so I could escape the church and go home.  Even as a little kid I never bought into religion, but that is because it has all of the driving power to a rational mind of a piece of lettuce.  It is about as convincing too.  It is no better than a fairytale.  I remember thinking as a kid that that was what it sounded like.

For real, not one piece of what goes on in the church sounds like something other than superstition.  Noah’s Arc (another example of God’s genocidal nature), the Ten Plagues of Egypt (also an example), Adam and Eve (the stupidest story that people take seriously), all of those stories sounded just so ridiculous.  I seriously will never understand how something that sounds so incredibly illogical and really has plot holes and endless contradiction is something that people believe so passionately.  Perhaps it is weakness.  I make no effort to hide my contention that people who believe in God are afraid.  They are afraid of the real world, and so they invent this other world that they can live in.  In this other world they have a magical friend who is always looking out for them.

As such, I really have no respect for any religion (somebody is already getting ready to bitch at me about Buddhism, but I don’t qualify that as a religion.  I’m with TJ when I say that it is atheism with a little spiritual garnish).  Even the really decent ones seem so silly to me, like the Wiccan faith.  Any belief system that believes in magical powers is just so ridiculous.  I can enjoy reading about magic and stuff like that all the time, but I can’t actually and actively believe that it exists.  To believe that is just such a farce.  A force that is unseen but can radically change all of reality, that makes no sense.

And that brings us back to the fact that I have to get a painful procedure done today at the dentist, made all the more painful by the fact that I have to sit in the lobby and listen to this shit.  And of course, you can’t say anything to anybody.  That is the other big problem with an office that plays Christian rock.  If you say something to somebody, they start going on about how you are disrespecting their beliefs because you don’t like their kind of music.  Now, in a town as hardcore religious as the one I live in, I get that that can be kind of a problem to deal with, but the fact that these people make me suffer their bad tastes.

And that is exactly what it is, bad taste.  There are no good Christian rock bands, not one.  I remember having to suffer through some of that live when I was a kid.  I wanted to tear out my ears.  Granted, I am not much into rock (Post 1990) and more into classical music and jazz (pretty much anything with no words, and don’t you Christians get on me that a lot of old-school classical artists were Christian.  Yeah, they were, but guess what, I don’t have to suffer bad lines to listen to!), but I know good rock from bad rock.  It isn’t hard to spot.  With all the bad rhymes and logical disconnects, it is easy to see why the average atheist like me thinks that you music sucks.

And that is going to be my day.  I am going to have to sit through a very painful dental procedure and have to have that horrible shit playing in the background.  At least when their stuff is on and making a lot of noise, that will drown it out.  I’ll be in pain, but maybe that is better.  A lot of religious people are in the world, and they have every right to listen to what they want, but why should those of us who think religion is nothing but a bunch of bullshit that needs to be eschewed in the name of social progresss have to suffer for that belief?  And it is suffering.  It even makes Christians cringe often.  The church I grew up in when I was religious may have only sung dirgest, but at least those were good for what they are.

But today is going to suck, a lot.  Wish me luck, eh?

The Reason I Like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – War in America

I’m not a big fan of war games.  It always seems kind of pointless to me.  Looking at wars that have gone by just seems like a bit of ego-stroking for America.  As such, the Call of Duty games never meant much to me.  But Modern Warfare 2 hit the really sweet spot that I have as a journalist.  As a person who studies journalism, the very concept that this game had as a main plot point was fascinating to me.  A lot of Americans are going to think I am a raving lunatic pretty quickly, but just hear me out.  This is actually an interesting train of thought, if you go with it.

We Americans actually take this hardcore for granted.  Really, most 1st-world countries take it for granted how it is for most of the rest of the world where terrorism and warfare being a pretty normal occurence.  It is truly remarkable how people all over the world seem to almost view violence in extreme degress as routine, normal.  When a bomb goes off and people work around it, when people just view it as part of everyday life, what does that say?  In my mind, it either says something really good about the spirit of human resiliance, or it says that humanity just doesn’t care and the people in those places have become numb to everything.

In the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a huge part of the story is when Russia invades the United States.  This attacked was unfortunately provoked.  An American agent was trying to get in close with a terrorist named Vladimir Makarov.  Makarov and his associates proceed to attack an airport.  It is a civilian massacre.  After butchering the forces inside of the airport and the subsequently killing the cops who report to the scene, Makarov kills the American agent (knowing he was an American agent) to have the two nations go to war.  It was a simple, horribly violent, yet subtly brilliant plan.

What follows is an Army Ranger unit who is working desperately to save the city of Washington DC from enemy capture.  They nearly fail as the military says that they will carpet-bomb the city in order to keep it from falling into enemy hands.  Pvt. James Ramirez is one of those who get to the top of the White House (code-named “Whiskey Hotel” in the game) and lights green flares, to let them know the city is still in American hands.  When they do this, you also see other green flares across the city, showing that there is still hope.

As a journalist, this is a fascinating thought to me – what would Americans do if enemy forces came into this country and full-scale war was happening in this country.  This country and the people in it have always seemed to believe, unless they were involved in it, that war was something that happened somewhere else, that somebody else died for.  It was just something that would get into the papers, and people would believe mattered to somebody else.  With our massively blown military budget, we seem t obe a military-supporting country, but really, if an enemy landed here, by the thousands, how quickly would we start flipping our shit?

Now, a lot of people will say that I am arguing for our efforts with the military.  I’m not, actually.  I think that war is out-dated, at least in 1st-world countries.  You don’t need an army to conquer the world anymore.  You need a bank account, a stock option, and a 401K to take over all life on this world.  Hell, China going to own us in a few years because people in this country are idiots and don’t invest in our nation’s infrastructure and get business to come back to this country.  Our economy is already on a down-slope again, but the American people are being told that all is well in the world.  Although, if China’s housing bubble bursts and their market tanks, the entire world is in a lot of trouble.

But as a journalist, this whole concept fascinates me.  I can just imagine being in the middle of it all, filming as it happens.  To get to see how all the elements of this country would come together and deal with this is not only a fascinating thought in general, it is also professionally compelling.  What everyone would do, how they would do it.  How the people would react, the cops, the military, all the different professions that would have to be involved in something like that.

So many people will say that if an enemy came to our shores and fought against this country, they would be right out there with their guns, firing away, but how many people would actually do it.  There is a huge difference between talking about something and actually doing it.  It is easy for a person to say that they will do something because there is nothing on the line.  However, when a person is actually tasked with living up to their word, then things get complicated.  And it is so easy for a country that has been desensitized to violence to go on about how we would blow the brains out of somebody’s head, but when you have to do it, it isn’t so simple.

I have seen a person who has had their brains blown out.  My grandfather killed himself with a shotgun.  I can tell you now that people who can talk tough about stuff like that are probably almost always people who have never had any real experience with death.  Redneck morons in their trucks can have guns that are making up for something else, but the fact is that when you have to own up to your talk, most would fall flat.  I am not one of those people.  If there was a war going on, part of me would want to run away.  But another part of me wants to pick up a video camera and record it.  To watch this nation and those who actually would step up.

There is no doubt in my mind that there would be cops who would answer the call, EMTs who would run into where shells are falling to get people out.  Firefighters who would run into blazes and help get people out.  And there would be the average citizen who would really step up and make a difference.  But to see it, to see what people would do, as much as I hope it never happens, I will admit that I am intrigued by what would happen.

Modern Feminism is a Joke, Part II!

After I can write for hours about how religion has a really ugly history of repressing sex, I hate that my most recent viewing of man-hating and sex-hating comes from an atheist.  I hate it.  I can talk for hours about how the Catholic church has been a massive bigot against the free expression of sexuality.  I can talk for hours about how they have been fighting against homosexuality.  I could show video after video from Mike Voris and Real Catholic TV showing that these people are nothing but haters.  I can show all kinds of evidence of how the religious community, Christian, Muslim, and the list goes on, have a horrible history of embracing free sexuality.  But instead I get it shown to me that there is a woman who hates sex, hates the idea of being hit on, and as I can see it, hates men.  I think she does.  She seems to believe that innocent offers of COFFEE (that was what was offered, he wanted to have coffee) are nothing more than commands to suck dick.

Perhaps I should give a little background.  The YouTuber, Skepchick (her real named is Rebecca Watson), went to a feminism conferance.  She is a VERY vocal feminist.  She had been enjoying her time, and was going to hit the sack.  When she left, a man approached her, stating that he wanted to talk with her more because she interested him.  He asked if she wanted to come back to his room for coffee.  That was the extent of his offer – coffee.  He didn’t say that he wanted to have sex with her or anything like that.  He just said he found her interesting and wanted to talk with her more.  And of course, she was totally offended by this.

What strikes me and another YouTuber who is my favorite who made a really funny and very insightful video response to her video describing this situation, TJ Kincaid, is how the atheist community seems to have rallied behind this woman.  They seem to be on her side that this guy was out of line and being horribly inappropriate and how he shouldn’t have done that.  Really?!  A guy innocently approaches a woman and asks her to have coffee with him, and he is some kind of “rape-supporter.”

I have to go back to that list I was talking about with Eve Bit First.  That list opened my eyes to a genre of people who genuinely make me sick – sex, love, and man-haters.  They are a group of people (not a real one, but one I made in my head) who hate everything that is good about our biology and want men to just bow down and to follow their orders, because in their own stupid, sexist minds, they are right.

And this woman is a sexist.  Skepchick is nothing more than a worthless sexist who is only angry at this guy because his offer caused her discomfort.  I feel for this guy, whoever he was.  He is better off without Skepchick.  He is better off not having been exacerbated on a public forum.  If he saw her on YouTube and now is seeing her again attack him where the entire world can see it, how is that even remotely decent a thing to do?  She brings this personal bullshit into a public forum and even calling this guy a misogynist.

For real, this bitch calls this guy, who maybe only did want to talk with her and have coffee, a misogynist on YouTube!  Hey Skepchick – fuck you!  Time and place, you unenlightened moron!  If you had a problem with what he did, tell him.  Don’t tell the entire world and make yourself out to be a victim of some kind of crime.

What is it with some of the modern feminist community and man-hating.  And what exactly is wrong with a guy hitting on a girl?  For real, if a guy approached a woman and asks her if she wants to go and do something sometime, how is he a misogynist.  It wasn’t like the dude was saying, “hey bitch, suck my dick!”  He was just asking a very innocent question that really shouldn’t have had much of an impact.  Is all flirtation a form of rape to people like her?

How are women not insulted by shit like this?  I mean, huge parts of the atheist community came out and defended her, saying how she was mistreated by this guy, and how he was out of line.  Atheists came out and talked about this stupid subjective crap because she wanted to make an example of this guy.  I really do feel bad for him.  To be publically called out as a misogynist, I hope he learned something, that Rebecca Watson is just another bigot.

And this brings me to a pretty sizeable portion of the modern feminism movement that is just such a joke.  It is a joke.  This man-hating and sex-hating and love-hating movement that it has become is just so offensive to me.  And what’s more, it should be offensive to any woman who is empowered and generally a decent person.  When a guy is able to work up the nerve to bring himself to talk to somebody he likes, and wanted to talk to more, and it may have only been that.  He may have only wanted to just talk with her and have a good time, and what is his reward?!  How are women not offended by the idea that if any man will ever talk to a woman like he is something other than a slave, they are some kind of misogynist.  That insults any girl who is in a stable relationship right now because a guy flirted with her, or maybe asked her for some coffee in a hotel room.

There is nothing wrong with hitting on a girl.  If anybody else than this woman were to be hit on by a guy, if they weren’t interested, they would say, “sorry, I’m not interested,” and walk away.  That would be the end of it.  And what makes this more pathetic is that if it were ANY other situation and this happened, she wouldn ‘t have a problem.  If it was a man and a man, a woman and a woman, or a woman and a man but with the roles reversed, she wouldn’t be bitching right now.

She proves that not only is her brand of feminism nothing but bigotry, misogyny (that’s right, they hate woman, all the empowered ones, anyway), and hating all the good parts about biology, like attraction.  This is why modern feminism is a joke to me.  Real feminism isn’t this bullshit.  It is something noble, and good.  But it has been debased by people like this, like Rebecca Watson.  Real feminism is about equal rights for women, and preserving those rights.  But now we have her, and all those like her, who have dragged the name of feminism through the mud.  How do feminists, the real and good kind, also not hate this bitch?

Hey Rebecca, thanks for not hiding your sexism and putting it on display.

The Failure of MSNBC, CNN and Fox is Coverage. All ARE Guilty!

I’ve had a recent discourse with a friend of mine.  He believes that MSNBC is the best source of news on television.  I disagree.  Obviously, I disagree.  Anybody who has a modicum of knowledge about the media industry should have disagreed.  I disagree not because I think they are all bad, all the major media networks (I think Fox is all bad, but that is a different story), but because I think that all the major media networks have failed in one form or another.  That’s the truth.  I think they have failed in a rather spectacular way, and in a way that honestly makes it seem like they aren’t interested in trying.

I am a very hardcore liberal progressive.  As I study history and look at what policies in government and economics do well, and which don’t, this is the ideology that I have come to.  Reaganomics are a joke, as a Bushanomics.  Obama’s economic policies have failed because he really hasn’t changed anything.  Summers and Geitner are his top advisors.  These people should have been shamed and thrown to the dogs, instead they are now canonized by a leader who said he would change things.  All of Alan Greenspan’s dream team should been shamed.

So as I look at what has succeeded and what has failed, I am absolutely astonished how much technology has taken over this world even in my short amount of time on Earth.  I remember having a computer and the internet was on a POS modem that took forever to load anything.  I remember when having Cable was a pretty big thing.  I remember when having a Satellite was a pretty big thing.  The world has changed so much.  And with that change is a change that has also happened in the way society operates these days.

I like Jon Stewart’s position that he has had in several interviews with political commentator’s, like Rachel Maddow and Chris Wallace.

24-hour news networks are built for one thing, and that’s 9/11.  And the type of gigantic news event that the type of apparatus that exists in this building and exists in the other 24-hours is perfectly suited to cover.”

That was from his really good interview on Fox Sunday with Chris Wallace.  I actually think Wallace is a pretty good interviewer.  I hate his network, but him being on it is not the worst thing in the world.  But the fact is that all of the major mainstream news networks are guilty of the same crime – sensationalizm and over-coverage.

The latest example of the mainstream media being lazy and sensational was in the Casey Anthony trial.  Who cared, honestly cared, about this bullshit?  Who really gave a shit if this woman did a heinous crime?  It is a bad thing, and it should be handled in court, but the fact is that this doesn’t affect any of us in any significant way.  There are troops dying in the Middle East.  The global economy is foundering as events group together in such a way, a profoud way.  We have Japan’s economy and their whole country in horrible shape because of what has happened with the tsunami.  The radiation may become a problem beyond Japan, which is worrying for people like me here in Alaska.

There is a really huge plethora of things going on in this world that there are to report on, and what does the media do?  They sensationalize crap.  That’s it.  They sensationalize absolute bullshit that nobody cares about.  There was the Casey Anthony trial, the Anthony Weiner Tweets (I still think the only reason people reported on that was because his last name is Weiner), the Michael Jackson death.  There are just a billion and a half things that the corporate media in this country does to not talk about the issues that matter.

And no network is innocent of this.  That’s what people take offense to more often than not.  Tell a hardcore MSNBC fan that their network talks about bullshit, and they get their panties in a bunch.  And it spreads beyond that.  Now, I will admit that I like a few of the political commentators.  I like Maddow, O’Donnell, and Olbermann.  But I don’t get my hard news from them.  And I fully understand that they are filtering things through their own agendas.  But the difference is that these three at least do some pretty decent research for their stories.  Maddow is almost obsessive with getting her information right.

But then you turn to the other side of the coin – Hannity, Limbaugh, Schultz, and their type – who speak with passion and who don’t look at things from a logical angle.  They just yell a lot and try to out-shout their guests who are purposely chosen to either agree with them not enough, or to agree with them totally.

The mainstream media doesn’t do what PBS and the BBC seem to be able to do on a daily basis, and the reason is because they have news going 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  That isn’t coverage.  When you need something to talk about all the time, it becomes that you eventually will run out.  But when you take the time, look into an issue, examine it, study it, debate it, and then present it to your audience and let them come to their own conclusions, you have risen above that lazy way of doing things.

My favorite news show is the masterpiece of hardcore journalism – Frontline.  That show more than any other on any network does in-depth and very hardcore unbiased (or as much as it gets.  I don’t believe in true objective journalism.  It’s just not possible) reporting.  And that is what good reporting should be.  PBS, NPR, BBC, and most regular news stations and newspapers do.  But the big major corporate media networks don’t do that kind of in-depth reporting.

And the fact is that this isn’t their major fail alone.  America, you are responsible for this.  You are part of the guilty party!  And you are!  You don’t demand anything better.  You don’t demand more environmentally friendly vehicles.  You don’t demand more environmentally friendly power sources.  You don’t demand better quality food.  And you especially don’t demand better quality media.  Reality TV shows are among the top rated pieces of garbage, and the corporate media is a joke.  I like Maddow, O’Donnell, and Olbermann.  Those three seem worth their salt.  But the networks they are on are junk.  And people don’t demand better.  So you wanna why your media sucks?  Because you don’t come together and demand something better!  You suck, America.  I’m part of America, I am one of the people who sucks.  But at least I admit it, and am trying to make change happen.

What are you doing?

Until next time, a quote,

“That’s the embarassment.  The embarassment is that I am given credibility in this world because of the disappointment that the public has in what the news media does.”  -Jon Stewart, Fox News Sunday

I’m NOT Attacking You, Christians! I’m attacking your beliefs

Every once and a while I get a really hardcore comment from a theist yelling at me and saying that I am attacking them and being disrespectful and hating on them and that it is uncalled for.  I hear that, and I sometimes get a little riled up myself.  Sometimes I fall into the group of people who gets all upset.  They attack me personally, and I take that personal.  But yeah, it is such a pain in the ass.  What makes it so much more annoying is the fact that they fail to understand that I am NOT attacking them personally.  I am attacking their belief system.

That is just it, the only thing.  I am attacking their way of thinking.  I am attacking a belief system that has been responsible for so much bigotry, misogyny, homophobia, every kind of prejudice in the book.  I am attacking a belief system that calls their deity a loving and good parent, when God himself has been responsible for countless atrocities in the Old Testament.  He has been responsible, and even committed on occasion, for genocide.  He drowned the entire planet.  Sure, he felt bad after he did that, but how many people could have possible existed during Noah’s time?  After all that, he did countless more atrocities.  He has commanded armies to rape women.  He has commanded the soldiers who fought in his name to tear open the bellies of prenant women.  He has sent a bear to kill small children because they insulted one of his prophets.  He has commanded his armies to smash the heads of children against stone.

The fact is that God is not a character I would follow even if he was real.  I don’t believe he is.  I don’t for two seconds even consider him to be real because it is so silly.  No character who is all-loving would be as sociopathic and completely lacking en empathy as the Christian God is.  And the common defense is, “well he gave us Jesus, so we would be forgiven!”  Alright, why would he need to go through all the rigamorale with him anyway?  He could just forgive us!  No, that would be too easy.  Instead, he has a hopelessly complicated and convoluted scheme involving his bastard son.  And even after all that happens, people are still told that we have to symbolically eat his flesh, and telepathically tell him that he is our master.  Yeah, any normal person wouldn’t make it so complicated.

I absolutely love this video made by mrfilthyrags on YouTube where he put music to a scene from “God on Trial.”  In that scene, a wise man took apart all the horrible things that God himself commanded after the Jews got out of Egypt.  It was brutal, and true.  And at the end, he came to the conclusion that I came to – God is NOT good.  He is not a good creature.  His existence is an abomination to the concept of goodness.  His existence is antithetical to what we understand as good.  And another fact is that no person who regards themselves as good would be this way.

If any of us had the powers that God supposedly has, we would NEVER let things be the way they are.  We would not let people be suffering the way they are suffering, for the world to be as shitty a place as it is.  I’m with rationalwarrior when I say that God is a “dead-beat dad.”  He is.  He is falling down on the job, and if you think otherwise, I am not attacking you (let me say that again), I am attacking this belief system.

Now I will be the first to admit that personal attacks are nothing new.  And I will also admit that it is not something that only one side does.  I have seen atheists and agnostics do it just as much as I have seen theists do it.  I am not for my side of the fence doing it anymore than I am for Christians doing it.  But when I hear from people like Bill that I am attacking them, them personally.  Let me say this much – you massively outnumber us, my breed.  You are not being attacked.  You are NOT being persecuted.  I hate it when somebody can brutally attack my way of thinking for hours, and when I come back at them with my own thoughts and my own critques of their faith, I should be more respectful.

I will say this much – if your God is real, why does he need you to fight his battles for him?  He does absolutely nothing himself.  He is a bloodthirsty killer who is given complete respect and complete obedience, even though he has openly said he is a vengeful and jealous character.  It is fear for some.  Some are afraid of the whole concept of Hell.  They are afraid of the worst sales gimmick that I have ever seen.  I am a grown-up, Hell doesn’t scare me.  People who are the most afraid of Hell are people who have never suffered, not really.  Those of us who have experienced real pain are generally much more critical.  Then there are those who are so miserable that they need the idea of a God who loves them.  I have had some correspondence on here with a man who is in that category.  He is dying of a terminal illness and told me that without God, he would have killed himself a very long time ago.

But when somebody comes on here and rants at me about how I have no right to attack them, I do get a little annoyed because it isn’t fair that I have to take this shit.  Now, I get it, when somebody attacks your way of thinking, your beliefs, your emotions flare, your anger starts up.  I get that.  But people need to be able to take a second and to step back.  They need to be able to understand that I am not attacking them, I am attacking the belief system that says that you have to be this way, or you are going to burn, forever.  I am attacking the beliefs that are all so ridiculously stupid.

Get it, and don’t send me your angry rants.  Grow up, people.

Until next time, a quote,

“You’re not being persecuted.  In all actuality, you’re being catered to.  Because how many politicians kiss…your…ass.”  -rationalwarrior, We Don’t Believe You

Objectivism and Ron Paul – A Dying Way of Thinking

It is a good thing that Ayn Randian objectivism is a dying way of thinking.  Rand is credited by the Libertarian crowd as being such a great person and being so wise.  The objectivists all seem to have their semen-covered book, Atlas Shrugged.  They go on and on about how the market can regulate itself.  They talk about how people should be able to govern themselves.  They say a lot of things, and want to know something – it is all bullshit.  It is all pathetic and dreaming fantasy that nobody should actually buy in this country.

Now, there are more than one school of objectivism.  Perhaps in my title I should have said Randian Objectivism is a dying way of thinking.  The reason that Rand is regarded by so many academics as being a flaming idiot is because her philosophy said that you should ignore all other philosophies.  For real, so many of her 22 books were just more ways of saying, “I’m right, and the reason I am right is because I said so.”  Her whole school of thought is that you sense things with your five senses, and that is all that is real.  She disregards the very concept of philosophy by advocating for ignorance.  Not exactly a very good way to be in the academic community.

But really, it was her belief in the market being able to regulate itself that is the ultimate farce.  A really cool and hopelessly undersubscribed YouTuber named theskepticalheretic made a brilliant point about this.  The fact is, an unregulated market only work in a mirco market.  When you have two people making a business deal, they don’t need to be regulated because at any time, one of the people in the market can leave the market.  They can agree and don’t need any external force.  That can work with two people.

But when you have a marco-market, like the Global Market, things change.  Things get a fuck of a lot more complicated because each force affects the other, and there are just too many people involved.  The self-ordered market is impossible in a market the size of the global market.  Proof that the market can’t fix itself – the crash of 2008.  This was caused by there being no regulation so the over-the-counter derivatives weren’t being monitored, and a whole plethora of sub-prime mortagages and bad business deals went on.  And when it came crashing down, they couldn’t fix it, because the people who were demanding compensation for the bad business deals were their customers.

Another point about the self-ordered market is that it is just nothing more than anarchy.  A lot of the Libertarian, Ron Paul, crowd seems to believe that the government should do next to nothing and the people should be free to lead themselves.  This is an absolute farce at the simplest level.  Anarchy isn’t possible.  It is absolutely not possible for such a system to work in any significant way.  Care to know why?  Because nature abhores a vacuum.  With humanity, as pointed out by theskepticalheretic, it is a power vacuum.

Back to the market metaphor, take a look at China.  When their Communist government decided that they would embrace capitalist business practices, we got to see a pattern quickly develop that would happen with all markets, if they were suddenly given free reign.  In China, a few business leaders quickly rose above the others and took control of the business market in China.  Such would be the case anywhere else.  The Randian objectivist way of thinking is that people will succeed based on their own merits.  If they are worthy, they will do well.  That’s bullshit.  Pure bullshit.  The reason it’s bullshit is because if you look at America today, that is not, has never been, how things are.  When the Founding Fathers created this country, they lived in a system that had people of worth fail and fall short due to the aggressive nature of how business has always been.

And it is the same with government.  People being able to order themselves is a farce because people naturally seek out leaders.  When a group of people come together, they naturally seek out leaders.  Anytime there is something that has no order, it will order itself.  True anarchy is nothing more than hopeful idealistic stupidity that people don’t seem to realize couldn’t happen in the real world.  Somalia is an example of how that concept has failed completely.  In fact, anarchy is around most of Africa for points of time.  A government crumbles, and the people are left to their own devices, and they find leaders to give direction to them.

The fact is that small government is a myth because the government has to exist to keep things in balance.  Ron Paul doesn’t seem to get that.  He doesn’t seem to understand that you have large government no matter what you do.  Take his position on Roe v. Wade.  He wants it to be repealed, for abortion to be illegal.  Do you have any idea how large a government it would be if we had to monitor every single pregnancy and make sure it goes to term?  Do you have any conceptual idea how large the government would have to be to make sure all women had their pregnancies not miscarry?  One big-time Tea Party guy said that miscarriages should be regarded as murder.

It was kind of amusing when Alan Greenspan, probably the biggest champion of Randian economics admitted he was wrong after the collapse in 2008.  The fact is that we need regulation, because the market needs order.  Order is what people demand and seek out naturally.  In tribes they sought out the wise, and that mentality has carried through until now.

The fact is that most objectivists don’t even know what objectivism, or Randian objectivism, mean.  They only know what it means through Ron Paul’s website.  And his position that the natural way of being better is so laughable because it ignores the fact that humans naturally seek order.  The natural order doesn’t work.  It has never worked.  And it is a good thing that Ron Paul is nothing more than a guy who everybody will talk about, but we all know he isn’t going to be President of this country.

God help us if he actually does become President.  We will all be fucked.  Greenspan spent his entire career as FED chairman doing as little as possible.  That sunk this country’s economy and almost got it to collapse.  If the government truly did decide to turn a blind eye to everything, what would happen after that?  If that doesn’t scare you, there is something wrong.

“There is no such possiblity as market anarchy.  That’s why it’s laughable!”  -theskepticalheretic, A Strawman Emporium?  Buying or Selling?

Bachmann Signs Bigotry Pledge

So, Michele Bachmann is one of those politicians who keeps on giving to the RATIONAL community of people.  Those of us who think and use our minds for something other than hat-racks and gun-keepers are able to look on at what she does, and we are able to have a good giggle over it.  But then there are times when you can look at something she does and feel so repulsed that you honestly start to wonder if you are still a human being, and not some kind of deranged monkey who wants to throw shit at her.  After looking over this little tidbit, I want to.

I think I’ll let ThinkProgress tell this story.  They can do so better than I -

Tonight, Michele Bachmann became the first presidential candidate to sign a pledge created by THE FAMiLY LEADER, an influential social-conservative group in Iowa. By signing the pledge Bachmann “vows” to “uphold the institution of marriage as only between one man and one woman” by committing herself to 14 specifics steps.

So, Michele Bachmann is the first presidential candidate to sign the biggest demonstration of homophobia in this entire country.  Part of me isn’t surprised that she did this.  Another part of me is surprised.  Given that her husband believes that members of the LGBT community are “barbarians who need to be educated,” it isn’t a stretch to realize that Bachmann is a homophobic bigot.  What is interesting are the little details of this, and I’ll get into each one, because let’s be honest, they are ALL funny.  Funny and pathetic, sure, but still funny.

So, here is another tidbit from the article that I want to give.  There are going to be many in this post.

HOMOSEXUALITY IS A CHOICE: The preface to the pledge reads, “Social protections…have been evaporating as we have collectively ‘debased the currency’ of marriage…in complete absence of empirical proof, that non-heterosexual inclination are genetically determined, irresistible and akin to innate traits like race, gender and eye color; as well as anti-scientific bias which holds, against all empirical evidence, that homosexual behavior in particular, and sexual promiscuity in general, optimizes individual or public health.”

I just love this.  I do.  I love the response that GrapplingIgnorance made to this assertion -

Bare in mind first that, as I’ll talk about later, The Family Leader is  Christian organization.  The level of irony is bitter indeed that this Christian organization holds such a high standard for empirical scientific evidence that homosexuality isn’t a choice.  But they have no trouble at all basing the entire religion that they use to justify their homophobic bigotry on FAITH!”

He’s absolutely right.  This is the ultimate farce I have ever seen.  They demand total scientific assertion which is proven to be true beyond any form of doubt, yet they will just sit back and pray to their invisible friend in the sky and say that they are correct.  The level of stupidity displayed her staggering.  They also believe that heterosexuality is the default position.  I want them to prove ten times better than the proof that exists that homosexuality is natural that straight people are not just “choosing” to be straight.

But this little bit goes on.

HOMOSEXUALITY IS A PUBLIC HEALTH RISK: Footnote 4 claims that homosexuality causes shorter life expectancy and a higher probability of a long list of sexually transmitted diseases. The Leader has previously compared same-sex marriage to second-hand smoking.

This is so ignorant it hurts.  It is that dumb.  What exactly about being homosexual is a public health risk?  And comparing it to second-hand smoke?!  Are you fucking kidding me?!  Yeah, like my straight friends go out into public and get a bunch of gay all over them.  Every time!  And being friends with a bisexual like me, they still get some of the gay!  Aren’t you straight people afflicted?  Homosexuality being a public health risk.  And the STD defense.  Because no straight people get STD’s, right?  Apparently they’ve never heard the statistics from African nations, or even our own country on percentage of population with AIDS.

As for the shorter lifespan angle, I wonder if they are talking about all the teenagers and young adults who kill themselves because they are bigoted against by these Christians assholes.

HOMOSEXUALITY IS LIKE POLYGAMY, ADULTERY, POLYANDRY: Vow 4 requires the candidate to pledge “Vigorous opposition to any redefinition of the Institution of Marriage…through statutory, bureaucratic, or court-imposed recognition of intimate unions which are bigamous, polygamous, polyandrous, same-sex.”

Another beautiful point about how the people of this country shouldn’t even consider being a tad bit progressive, and, I don’t know, maybe thinking a bit.  I know that’s antithetical to the Republicans who method of living – thinking.  They just can’t stand us thinking people.  We really are the bane of their existence.  And instead, just call it “intimate unions.”  Bigoted and insulting.  Pathetic.

PORNOGRAPHY SHOULD BE BANNED: Vow 9 stipulates that the candidate must “support human protection of women and the innocent fruit of conjugal intimacy” and protect them from “seduction into promiscuity and all forms of pornography…and other types of coercion or stolen innocence.”

What is it exactly about the porn industry that Christians hate so much?  Do they not like the fact that their husbands that they are chained to might just find another woman more attractive?  As for stolen innocence, fuck that!  We have sex on Christian-supported shows all the time!  We are a culture that is obsessed with sex.  You want to talk about getting girls to stop thinking about sex, want them to keep their innocence?  Have Jenna Rose go away!  Stop putting 12 year old in lingerie and maybe then we can talk about stolen innocence!  As for coercion, you want to stop that from happening?  Regulate the industry more.  Work from within to help the problem.

The thing about porn is that it isn’t going ANYWHERE.  Care to know why?  Because there is a demand.  As long as the demand for ways to get off (yes, and we all know masturbation is evil, right Christians?  At least we atheists can jerk off and enjoy the feeling, while some of you are filled with self-loathing), porn will always exist.  And there will always be a demand because people like to think about fucking.  We like to fuck.  Sorry, Christians, but that’s how it is.

SEX IS BETTER AFTER MARRIAGE: Vow 5 requires the candidate to support the notion that “married people enjoy better health, better sex.”

I think I’ll let GrapplingIgnorance take this one -

So this is what trolls do when they grow up and leave their mother’s basements.  They go and propose political legislation for religious lobby groups.

Yeah, if my memories of hanging from a chandelier with a champagne bottle and her with only a rubber ducky (I won’t say where) says anything, it’s that that is just bullshit.

REJECT SHARIA ISLAM: Vow 11 requires the candidate to reject Sharia law.

And of course, no Republican bit of legislation work is complete without a little bit of bashing of Muslims and hating another group of people who aren’t Christians.

Here’s the fact – Michele Bachmann is proving, without any tiny bit of doubt, that she hates homosexuals, Muslims, and anybody who isn’t part of her way of thinking.  She is nothing but an ignorant bigot who is followed by people who are just as ignorant and bigoted as her.  The nice thing about stuff like this is that it proves that Bachmann isn’t going to win the presidency of this country unless Obama decides to just cave on the debt ceiling talks and the liberals realize he’s a dud and don’t bother coming to the polls.

Although, this may be a sign for what he can run on even then – “vote for me, because this woman is batshit crazy!”

Until next time, a quote,

“That person should be allowed to run on a Sharia Law platform if he or she chooses to do so.  Fred Phelps should be able to run for President if he wants to.  It’s the responsibility of the voters to decide if that’s the kind of president they want.  It’s our responsibility to be aware that  such a person is trying to assume control of Congress and to be informed about what Sharia Law is or any other kinds of radical platforms are.”  -GrapplingIgnorance, Are You Serious, Iowa/Michele Bachmann?
